2004 Science for Alaska Lecture Series
The UAF Geophysical Institute and the University of Alaska
Foundation will be presenting weekly lectures that are free
to the public. Lectures will be every Monday at 7:15 p.m.
in the UAA Wendy Williamson Auditorium for six weeks.

UAA Residence Hall Blood Bowl Challenge
Come give blood at the 4th Annual Blood Bowl challenge.
UAA will compete against UAF and UAS to see who can save

styles including: drawing, painting, photography, computer

Friday, Feb. 6
KRUA Concert - KRUA is bringing the local
love with monthly concerts at the UAA Den. The first of
this string of all ages shows will feature Delmag, Jeb and
The BrothersContra. Admisssion is $7. The event is co-sponsored
by the Northern Light.
Frank McCourt Book Signing and Lecture
- Pulitzer Prize-winning author, Frank McCourt will be signing
books at the UAA Bookstore from 3-4:30 p.m. As a special
public kick-off for UAA’s 50th Anniversary, he will
speak at 7:30 p.m. in UAA’s Wendy Williamson Auditorium.
Saturday, Feb. 7
Comedian - Comedian Preacher Moss will
be performing in the Campus Center Den at 8 p.m. Tickets
are $3 for UAA students with valid ID Regular admission
is $7. Through laughter, respect, and humility, Moss plays
to the hearts and minds of college students by speaking
honestly about racism.
Mardi Gras Ball - Delectable Cajun cuisine,
beads galore, Dixieland music, a parade, and the crowing
of the Mardi Gras King and Queen all take place at the Anchorage
Symphony League Mardi Gras Ball to benefit the Anchorage
Symphony Orchestra. Cocktails start at 6:30 p.m. and dinner
is at 7:30 p.m. at the Hotel Captain Cook Discovery Ballroom.
After dinner, dance to the sounds of Soul Man Sam. For reservations
