Chancellor candidates cruise campus

The Chancellor Search Committee has narrowed the candidates to four individuals who have passed two stages of screening, interviewed by telephone and will now undergo on-campus interviews.

George Wood hearing set for April

Former University of Alaska Anchorage student and “Seawolf Super-Fan” George Michael Wood was recently indicted by a grand jury on three counts of first-degree sexual assault and three counts of second-degree sexual assault. Wood was arrested Feb. 7 and charged with raping two women during a party at his Mountain View home


Shuttle earns complaints, kudos

At the Seawolf Shuttle stop, prospective passengers often comment that the shuttle is late or that there’s no way they’ll make it to class on time. Such remarks may lead to the impression that students of the University of Alaska Anchorage have less-than-fond feelings for the shuttle service. Although most students feel the shuttle service is not perfect, they do appreciate it.

 

Departments tighten belts
Fiscal cuts call for creative ideas

In response to the $1.2 million shortfall predicted for the University of Alaska Anchorage in 2005, meetings continue throughout departments to find solutions to the budget crisis. With a $700,000 budget cut scheduled for the College of Arts and Sciences, a series of meetings has already begun to determine where to eliminate expenses.
